[Plumbline](/) takes plumbing requests for condominiums across Singapore. Here is who is responsible for which pipe in condominiums.

## Plumbing in condominiums

In a condominium, the pipes and fittings inside your unit are generally yours to maintain, while shared tanks, pumps and common pipes belong to the development and are handled through the management office. Before any plumbing work, check with management whether contractors need to register or work within set hours.
The licence rules are the same as anywhere in Singapore: regulated water service and sanitary plumbing works must be done by a PUB Licensed Plumber, while clearing chokes and replacing taps are simple works a handyman may do ([PUB](https://www.pub.gov.sg/Professionals/Requirements/Licensed-Plumbers/Plumbing-Works)).
Downstream of the water meter, water service installations are the consumer's to maintain ([PUB handbook](https://www.pub.gov.sg/-/media/PUB/PDF/Handbook_on_Application_for_Water_Supply_2022.pdf)).

## Services for condominiums

- Pipe leak repair: A dripping joint is a quick fix. A leak inside a wall is a different job. Know which you have.
- Kitchen sink choke: Grease, rice and coffee grounds build up until the sink stops draining.
- Floor trap choke: Water pooling on the bathroom floor, or a sewer smell from the drain.
- Water heater replacement: No hot water, a leaking tank, or a heater tripping the power: repair or replace.
- Low water pressure: Your whole floor, or just your kitchen tap? The answer decides who fixes it.
