Plumbline takes plumbing requests for condominiums across Singapore. Here is who is responsible for which pipe in condominiums.
Plumbing in condominiums
In a condominium, the pipes and fittings inside your unit are generally yours to maintain, while shared tanks, pumps and common pipes belong to the development and are handled through the management office. Before any plumbing work, check with management whether contractors need to register or work within set hours.
The licence rules are the same as anywhere in Singapore: regulated water service and sanitary plumbing works must be done by a PUB Licensed Plumber, while clearing chokes and replacing taps are simple works a handyman may do (PUB).
Downstream of the water meter, water service installations are the consumer's to maintain (PUB handbook).
